How to Plan a Celebrity Meet & Greet

Celebrity musical performers and keynote speakers may accept requests for a VIP meet & greet at your corporate, nonprofit or private event. However, there are very important procedures that should be taken into consideration to make sure it is a successful and pleasant experience for all those attending the meet & greet and the celebrity as well.

Celebrity Meet & Greet | Tips for Success

From the very start, the VIP or Celebrity Meet & Greet needs to be negotiated as part of the initial contract with the artist. As with most details of any booking, the larger the name, the more requirements they have.

Keep in mind that although your organization may have contracted to have a Celebrity perform at your event, this does not mean that the artist will automatically have dinner with the CEO, take a picture holding your product, record a quote about your charitable cause, attend the cocktail reception, sit on the dais or stay after the performance and mingle with the guests.

All of these opportunities need to be discussed in advance. Making a request the night before asking the celebrity to join the CEO for dinner will most often be denied… no matter how much you’re paying for the performance the next day. However, if special requests of the celebrity’s time are made in advance at the point of booking, it is more likely accepted.

It is usually helpful to define the purpose of this “meet the artist” opportunity. Celebrity Meet & Greets should be a gathering of your organization’s most important VIPs, a photo and an autograph opportunity and a chance to have an experience that will long be remembered.

Anticipating the Celebrity Meet & Greet Requirements

Most every performer will have a preference to do the meet & greet either just prior to their performance or immediately after. It’s important to find out the celebrity’s preference and plan for it in your timeline.  See Link Below:

Also, necessary to the success of every celebrity performance is the need to prepare the celebrity dressing room.  Although much joked about and ridiculed, there is hardly a better way to ensure a great performance and a cooperative celebrity attitude than taking the necessary steps to prepare the dressing room with the proper details.
